Military Appreciation Month

May is National Military Appreciation Month, officially recognized by Congress in 1999. The month includes several key dates pertaining to our veterans and active duty military: Military Spouse Appreciation Day on 7 May, VE Day (WWII Victory in Europe Day) on 8 May, Armed Forces Day on 15 May, and Memorial Day on 31 May.

Sharing and Caring Food Drive

Our monthly food drive for Sharing & Caring, our community food bank, is held the first Sunday of every month. Bring canned and non-perishable food products to the lobby of Christian Life Center and place them on the collection cart. There is also a need for baby formula, toothpaste, shampoo, bar soap, and laundry detergent.

Daughters All Banquet

Join us today at 4pm for our annual Daughters All Banquet. It will be a Cinco de Mayo themed celebration, so come in your favorite Mexican outfit or hat, or come as you are. Bring your mother, daughter, friends, or neighbors. All are welcome. We have many fun things planned for the little one, so bring your kiddos. There will be prizes for best dressed as well as much fun for everyone. We will serve tacos, rice, beans, and dessert. The charge for a great afternoon is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10y/o. Contact Waldi for more info.

Ruth Circle meets today and the 1st Tuesday of each month at 9:30am for fun Bible study and great fellowship. Ruth Circle is intended for the non-working woman. We use the “Together Magazine” and “Gather Magazine” provided by the Lutheran ministry for Bible study on various topics. All ladies are invited to join us as we study God’s Word and grow closer together in Christian fellowship.

Today we celebrate The Ascension of Our Lord, which occurred 40 days after Jesus Christ rose from the dead on Easter and is the final act of our redemption that Christ began on Good Friday. On this day, the risen Christ, as witnessed by His apostles, ascended into Heaven. Mother's Day Brunch

The Evangelism Committee is hosting a Mother’s Day brunch in the CLC on 12 May after worship. Come join us for a tasty brunch and fellowship as we recognize mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures for all that they do and have done in our lives.
