Ruth Circle is a ladies Bible Study that meets the first Tuesday of the month at 9:00 a. m.  in the upper room. The Bible study is in the monthly issues of the Gather magazine from the Women of the ELCA.

Abigail Circle

Abigail Circle

Abigail Circle is a younger generation group, including young mothers, who embrace the mission to share God’s word through fellowship and community outreach.  Abigail Circle meets to discuss ways to reach our own community as well as other communities and countries in the future.  Fellowship, devotions, spiritual discussion, and a family focus are all important as we try to incorporate children into various service projects in order to show them the importance of community service.

Today we celebrate Flag Day. On 14 June 1777, the Second Continental Congress took a break from writing the Articles of Confederation and passed a resolution stating that “the flag of the United States be 13 stripes, alternate red and white,” and that “the union be 13 stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.” In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson officially established 14 June as Flag Day. Father’s Day is celebrated worldwide to recognize the contributions that fathers and father figures make to the lives of their children. In America it is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. Juneteenth
Jun 19, 2025

Juneteenth is short for “June Nineteenth”, which celebrates the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas, the last remaining slave state. Juneteenth marks the day when federal troops arrived in Texas in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed. The troops’ arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the U.S. On 17 June 2021, it officially became a federal holiday. Click on this event to learn more.
