Today is Backpack Food Sunday. It is held the 3rd Sunday of each month and provides weekend meals for needy children at Edwins Elementary School.  Bring individually-packed nutritious food items to the lobby of the Christian Life Center.  A specific shopping list is available at the church, and monetary donations are also welcome so food items can be purchased. Join us for our upcoming Rummage Sale 31 July through 1 August from 6am-4pm. We will begin accepting donations on 19 July. Please place items against the far left wall of the CLC. After 19 July, donations can be dropped off during office hours (Mon-Fri, 9am-1pm). Large items may be left in the lobby starting 27 July. Volunteers are needed for this event, and setup begins 26 July after our Sunday worship service. Contact Louan with questions or to volunteer.

The HTLC Church Council meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm to discuss finances, committee activities, upcoming events, and other church business. All congregation members and visitors are invited to attend. If you are interested in being a board member or team lead, please ask a pastor or one of our current board members. Nominees are accepted in the Fall for a variety of alternating 2-year positions.

Today is the Feast of St. Mary Magdalene.  She was identified in the New Testament as a constant companion of Jesus during his ministry in Galilee and was one of his earliest followers.  Mary witnessed the crucifixion and the interment of Jesus’ body in the tomb.  She was also the first recorded witness of the Resurrection, as Jesus singled her out from all others to bring news of His transcendence over death to His disciples.  Click on this event to learn more.

Eve Circle meets tonight at 6pm. Eve Circle is intended for all ages and specifically designed for the working woman. We are a gathering of women of faith who gain spiritual and emotional strength through fellowship, bible study, and community service. Past study topics include “Bad Girls of the Bible.” The group meets in the Upper Building the fourth Thursday of each month.
