Deborah Circle meets tonight. Called “Lil Debbies,” we combine prayer and informal bible study with a primary focus on fellowship and heartfelt discussions with other women of faith. Deborah Circle meets the second Monday of each month at 6pm and is tailored for the woman who wants an evening out with Christian friends.
The Arts and Crafts group meets today and Wednesdays at 9:30am. Come join us for fun and fellowship as we create attractive items for donations that benefit various church programs and charities. This past year we have provided gifts for individuals in nursing homes and care centers.
Today we celebrate Flag Day. On 14 June 1777, the Second Continental Congress took a break from writing the Articles of Confederation and passed a resolution stating that “the flag of the United States be 13 stripes, alternate red and white,” and that “the union be 13 stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.” In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson officially established 14 June as Flag Day. Today we celebrate Holy Trinity Sunday, a Christian feast that celebrates and honors the Holy Trinity. We commemorate and celebrate God who is three in one: God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit, that is the spirit of God. All are separate entities upon themselves, but they are also one and the same. Click on this event to learn more.
Father’s Day is celebrated worldwide to recognize the contributions that fathers and father figures make to the lives of their children. In America it is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. Father’s Day has been celebrated in the U.S. since 1910, and in 1972, President Richard Nixon made Father's Day a national observance. Let us also remember and honor God, the greatest Father of all.
Please continue to donate your used medicine bottles with labels removed that we then give to the PAWS program for their use filling medications for pets. Thank you for supporting our furry friends in the community.
Today is Backpack Food Sunday. It is held the 3rd Sunday of each month and provides weekend meals for needy children at Edwins Elementary School. A specific shopping list is available at the church, and monetary donations are also welcome so food items can be purchased. Click on this event to learn more about this program.

Juneteenth is short for “June Nineteenth”, which celebrates the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas, the last remaining slave state. Juneteenth marks the day when federal troops arrived in Texas in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed. The troops’ arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the U.S. On 17 June 2021, it officially became a federal holiday. Click on this event to learn more.
