We are continuing to collect congregational surveys through 2 June to help our Call Committee create our congregation profile, which will then be used to match our church with potential pastoral candidates. Surveys are available in the Christian Life Center, and a copy is also in the May Tidings Newsletter. There is a box in the CLC “Call Committee Corner” for completed surveys, or give them to a committee member.

Today at 9:40am is the last day of Sunday School for this current school year. Today during both services we will celebrate our acolytes and school graduates. We will also be having a group-wide event outside and in the Upper Building with refreshments, fun games, and grateful thanks to our Sunday School teachers and helpers. There will then be a recess from classes during the summer. We look forward to resuming Sunday School in the Fall.

It was originally called “Decoration Day,” from the early tradition of decorating graves with flowers, wreaths and flags, and the event was first widely observed on 30 May 1868 to commemorate the sacrifices of Civil War soldiers.
