Maundy Thursday
Apr 2, 2026

Today we commemorate Maundy Thursday and begin The Tridium. After Jesus and the disciples finished the Last Supper and walked toward Gethsemane, Jesus taught them a new commandment: “that you love one another.” On this day we mark the official end of Lent by receiving individual absolution, or forgiveness. We also remember the first Lord’s Supper and the washing of the disciples’ feet. Click on this event to learn more.

Maundy Thursday Worship Service
Apr 2, 2026

Join us at noon and 6:30pm for Maundy Thursday worship services in the Sanctuary. On this Maundy Thursday we begin the three days during which we participate once again in the saving power of Jesus’ passing over from death into life. This service includes the words of Jesus’ new commandment to love one another, so we take a few minutes to meditate on what it means to be a servant. At the service’s conclusion, the altar area is stripped of furnishings as a sign of Jesus’ abandonment. Click on this event to learn more.

Good Friday
Apr 3, 2026

Good Friday is the day we commemorate the death of our Savior, the day when our Lord gave his life to save us from our sins. We should remember the cruel crucifixion our Lord suffered for our sake and contemplate the cost Jesus paid for our redemption. This is the most solemn service of the church year, rightfully observed by entering in complete silence with a black veil covering the cross and no lit candles. Click on this event to learn more.

Good Friday Service
Apr 3, 2026

The two Good Friday services tonight at noon and 6:30pm continue our journey through the Three Days of Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection. Nursery care is available at 6:30pm. At the heart of this service is the passion reading according to John, which celebrates Christ’s victory on the cross. Today’s service is referred to as a Tenebrae service (meaning ‘shadows’ or ‘darkness’). The extinguishing of the candles recalls the darkening shadows of Calvary, as Jesus’ life was slowly extinguished. Click on this event to learn more.

Easter Vigil
Apr 4, 2026

The Easter Vigil is celebrated on the evening of Holy Saturday, the evening before the joyous Easter celebration. This draws us back to the great Hebrew Passover. Per Deuteronomy 6, it is not just about the first generation of slaves celebrating the Lord’s salvation and exodus from Egypt. Rather, we all celebrate the same rescue and the same meal as our very own. This is the thrust in the Easter Vigil. It is the story of Christ’s Passover, God’s salvation in the Word made flesh from beginning to end; that story is our story. Click on this event to learn more.

Easter Sunday
Apr 5, 2026

Today we celebrate Easter Sunday. Easter Day is the day of the resurrection, a joyous celebration of God’s victory over sin and death. Easter is the day, after three days, that Jesus rose from the dead. This is our day of victory. Jesus said, “Because I live, you also will live” (John 14:19). We are forgiven, and that means we have the certainty of eternal life through Jesus. Christ is Risen; he is Risen indeed. Click on this event to learn more.
